The decision was made to leave the nest, which contained four eggs of a native black-faced woodswallow, undisturbed until a safe solution was found.
With the expertise of the Civmec HSE team, in collaboration with client Pilbara Minerals, a new nest box was built nearby. The nest was then carefully relocated to the new box, ensuring minimal disturbance to the birds.
After a 48-hour adjustment period, the birds successfully adapted to their new home, allowing for the safe removal of the super lift tray. Less than one month later, the eggs hatched successfully.
These combined efforts highlight Civmec’s commitment to the environment and ensuring everyone and everything goes “home safe every day”.
