The project allowed Civmec to showcase our diverse range of services and included the civil concrete and SMP (structural, mechanical and piping) works for Trains 1 and 2 of the hydro-metallurgical process, offsite fabrication of a rotary kiln and cooler at our Henderson facility, and installation of refractory linings.
The major project utilised a workforce of approximately 500 at peak.
At the project’s conclusion, Civmec had delivered:
- 120,000m3 of earthworks
- 24,000m3 of concrete
- 6,800t of structural steel
- over 50km of piping
- over 1,250t of refractory lining.
Civmec returned in 2022 in a maintenance capacity to perform refractory wear management with 3D laser scanning.
